Statement of Intent
For my pop music video, I am using the song "We'll Be Forgetting This" by Elias Najilin. I am planning to first conform then subvert the lyrics within the song whilst relating to the 16-25 AB demographic with a universal portrayal of feeling left out. I plan to target this demographic through the presentation of my 'artist' and the visuals within the video, which will hopefully be aspirational and relate to the audience members and will mainly consist of bright colours. I have decided to include a performative and narrative aspect to my video, which follows a lot of pop music video trends. The artist will not participate in the narrative but will be placed in locations similar or the same as the one in the narrative, however she will share clothing aspects with the girls which imply that she has been in the position of both the one left out and the one leaving someone out.
